Northern California Burn Foundation
Camp Eagle Flight

The Northern California Burn Foundation was
founded in 1986. Burn Unit Doctors, Nurses, and
Firefighters designed this Foundation to help
assist burn survivors during their long recovery
process.

The NCBF works to provide services and fire and
burn prevention education. This is essential to
help escape the trauma and severe pain many
endure when seriously burned. The NCBF also
produces fire and burn prevention materials that
are distributed throughout the country.

According to the American Burn Association, each
year in the Untied States, 1.1 million burn
injuries require medical attention.
  • Every year, children start nearly 100,000
    fIres.
  • Approximately 50,000 of these require
    hospitalization.
  • Each year, approximately 4,500 of these
    people die.

The NCBF provides a camp for severely burned
children as well as other programs for burn
survivors throughout the year. These programs
are designed to:
  • Build self-esteem.
  • Help relieve emotional suffering.
  • Build coping skills.
  • Promote socializing with other burn survivors.
